O'Hara Lions Bring the Heat

It's all or nothing for the season this Friday for O'Hara against Bonner in a playoff game.

There are many things the football team can kick itself over in the 20-13 loss to archrival Monsignor Bonner on Oct. 15, marking the first time the Lions lost to Bonner since 2001.

But the most glaring for O’Hara was not matching the intensity level of Bonner.

The Friars entered the game as if was the Super Bowl. O’Hara came into the game thinking it could turn on the intensity switch any time the Lions wanted. They found out differently.

Now the teams will be meeting for their seasons. O’Hara and Bonner will play in the first round of the Catholic League Class AAA playoffs at Widener University Friday at 7 p.m.

The loser is done. The winner moves on and gets to play most probably powerhouse Archbishop Wood the following week.

“This game is big for us,” O’Hara defensive end Shane Johnson said. “The first game against them, and after watching the films, we didn’t play to our ability. We could have stepped up and I could have made a few more tackles than I should have made. Bonner came into that game a lot more hyped up than they did. There will be a way different level of intensity this time around; it will be way different, and by the end of the game, we’ll see who’s the better team. This is our season and we know it. It’s all or nothing.”
