Package Thefts, Vandalism, DUI, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

A Delaware County woman and a Philadelphia man stole packages from three Springfield homes, police said. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 13 and Dec. 18.

Dec. 13 at 9:50 a.m.
A shopper at Springfield Mall reported that sometime Dec. 11 while his Mitsubishi was parked in the mall lot, someone removed the catalytic converter from his Mitsubishi vehicle.

Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
A resident of the unit block of Schuyler Road reported a package was stolen from the front of the property.

Dec. 15 at 3:27 p.m.
A 37-year-old female from Philadelphia was taken into custody after Macy’s security at the mall reported she stole $200 worth of jewelry. They also reported the same female stole boots from the store in November. The female was found to have an active arrest warrant from Abington PD for theft and was turned over to them. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Dec. 16 at 3:15 p.m.
Macy’s reported a female stopped for stealing over $1,100 worth of boots. Officers responded and took custody of a 31-year-old female from Claymont, Delaware. She was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Delaware County and was later transported to Delaware County Prison. Retail Theft charges will be filed.

Dec. 16 at 4:24 p.m.
An employee of Springfield Hyundai reported someone poured milk on her vehicle, which had been parked on the 500 block of Philmar Court.

Dec. 16 at 4:26 p.m.
Officers responded to the unit block of North Alford Road for a report that a male subject was taking a package from a front porch and entering a vehicle. Ofc. Christy responded and located the vehicle on Avon Road near Bennett Road and stopped the vehicle. He identified the female driver and male passenger and observed numerous packages inside the vehicle. The packages were found to have been stolen from three Springfield residences. Janice Anderson, 19, of Clifton Heights and Isaih Blankson, 21, of Philadelphia, were taken into custody. Both were arraigned and later transported to Delaware County Prison.

Dec. 17 at 8:16 p.m.
Officers responded to the CVS, 700 block of Baltimore Pike, for a report of a female who just stole over $400 worth of merchandise. They located the female on Baltimore Pike and recovered the merchandise. The 33-year-old female from Drexel Hill was taken into custody and processed. She was later released, and charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Dec. 18 at 11:37 p.m.
Officers responded to the unit block of Baltimore Pike to investigate a stopped vehicle with the driver unconscious. The vehicle was found with a flat tire, and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The 43-year-old male from Havertown was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. He was later released, and charges for DUI are pending.

Dec. 17 at 8:16 a.m.
Several residents from the area of Ridgewood Road, Avon Road, and Alliston Road reported damage occurred to their fences in the rear of their property in which fence panels or slats were broken. Sgt. J. DiTrolio is investigating.

Dec. 18 at 1:44 p.m.
A Newtown Square resident reported that sometime during the early evening Dec. 17 someone spray-painted the hood of his vehicle as it was parked on the unit block of Surrey Road. Sgt. J. DiTrolio is investigating
