The scholarship presentation came at the conclusion of the Berklee Five-Week Summer Performance Program
At an emotional presentation and concert at the Berklee Performance Center on Tuesday, August 11, Antonio Robinson, a bassist from Philadelphia, was awarded a four-year full tuition scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music [link]. Robinson will begin class at the start of the first semester on September 8.
Emceed by actor and comedian Sinbad, the scholarship presentation came at the conclusion of the Berklee Five-Week Summer Performance Program [link], the last hurdle for scholarship winners to clear before beginning their college careers.
Robinson, along with twelve other scholarship recipients, participated in Berklee City Music [link], a program that delivers contemporary music education instruction to young people from underserved communities at no or low cost. The 13 recipients are among 122 teens that were enrolled in Berklee’s Five-Week Summer Performance Program on City Music scholarships.
