Police Make 3 DUI Arrests

The three individuals were found to driving under the influence in separate incidents.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

DUI—While on patrol in the 100 block of Saxer Avenue at about 2:21 a.m. on Dec. 24, Ptlm. Andrew Graff observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 20-year-old Brookhaven woman, was found to be intoxicated. She was taken to Springfield Hospital, had blood drawn, and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol, underage drinking and related motor vehicle violations. She was later released to a relative. Detective Sgt. John DiTrolio is handling the investigation.

DUI—While on patrol in the 1000 blcok of Baltimore Pike at about 1:16 a.m. on Dec. 26, Ptlm. Sean Clifton observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 34-year-old Crum Lynne, Pa. man, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken to Springfield Hospital, had blood drawn, and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol and related motor vehicle violations. He was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

DUI—Springfield Police were dispatched to N. Bishop Ave. and E. Springfield Rd. at about 1:02 p.m. on Dec. 27 for a reported traffic accident. Ptlm. Daniel Boyd arrived to find a two-vehicle crash with no injuries. A further investigation showed that one of the drivers, a 51-year-old Drexel Hill woman, was intoxicated. She was taken to Springfield Hospital, had blood drawn, and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol and related motor vehicle violations. She was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.
