Public Drunkenness, DUI, Thefts Mark Springfield Police Report
A woman is accused of being drunk and causing a disturbance at Netherwood Park while children played there, police said.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police released its weekly crime report on Monday, Aug. 28.
Police in the township responded to various incidents, including one where an allegedly drunk woman was causing a disturbance at a playground as kids played there and several thefts.

Aug. 21, 10:35 a.m.
Target at the mall security stopped Iqbal Chowdhury 41, of Buffalo, New York, after observing him
steal $150 worth of merchandise. He was taken into custody by police and charged with retail theft.
Aug. 21, 3:58 p.m.
Target at the mall security observed two females in the jewelry department each select bracelets and place them on their wrists. The females then went to the shoe department and concealed a pair of sneakers. Both then attempted to leave the store not paying for the merchandise. Shekira Jenkins 20, and Janai Selby-Eaddy 32, both of Wilmington, Delaware were taken into custody and cited for retail theft.

Aug. 21, 7:43 p.m.
Littman Jewelers at the mall reported a male subject entered the store shopping for watches. He grabbed two watches from an employee and left the mall and entered a pickup truck leaving the area. Det. McNeely is investigating the incident.
Aug, 22, 2:37 p.m.
Officer Hurwitz investigated a crash on Saxer Avenue near Baltimore Pike in which an operator of a pickup
truck struck the rear of a stopped vehicle. The operator, a 53-year-old male from Springfield, was taken
into custody for suspected DUI. He submitted to a blood test and was later released to a family member.
Charges are pending.
Aug. 24, 5:33 p.m.
A 33-year-old Havertown resident will be cited for retail theft after investigation by Target security at the mall showed her selecting and leaving the store with about $150 worth of clothing and perfume and failing to pay for the merchandise.
Aug. 25, 1:51 p.m.
Rachel Hoing 46, of Springfield, was arrested for public drunkenness after being found at Netherwood Park creating a disturbance involving children of a daycare who were playing on the playground. She was taken into custody and later released to family.
Aug. 26, 4:23 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Cutcliff observed a vehicle exiting the Days Inn parking lot and driving recklessly on Baltimore Pike. Investigation showed the driver, a 41-year-old Folsom resident, to be intoxicated on beer. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He submitted to a blood test and charges for DUI are pending
