Springfield Resident, 89, Dies Before Sentencing for Wife's Murder

An elderly Springfield resident, who was slated for sentencing in the stabbing of his long-time wife, has died.

Ernest Francis Rayfield, 89, of Springfield, died June 18, according to reports on Philly.com and a death notice posted in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Rayfield was scheduled for sentencing yesterday for stabbing his long-time wife to death.
