Road Rage, Bank Robbery, Burglary, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Police said a home on the 600 block of Hillborn Avenue was broken into and the victim's vehicle was stolen. See full blotter details here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between July 21 and July 24.

July 21 at 9:53 a.m.
Officers were called to State Road near Stratford Road for a road rage report. A female reported that she activated her horn to signal to another vehicle, and the driver of that vehicle exited and threatened to shoot her. The victim drove away and called police. Det. Cutcliff is investigating.

July 23 at 8:49 p.m.
A resident of the 500 block of Rutherford Road reported that upon returning home from being out since the morning, she found her house had been ransacked. It appeared as if entry to the house was gained through a window in the rear. A bank card and checkbook appeared to have been stolen. Det. Nutley is investigating.

July 23 at 12:45 p.m.
Officers responded to the WSFS Bank, 500 block of Baltimore Pike, for a robbery report. Bank employees reported a male subject entered the bank and implied he had a firearm. The male fled the bank with an amount of money and left in a vehicle on Baltimore Pike. Det. Nutley is investigating.

July 23 at 8:04 p.m.
Two juvenile females reported being harassed by a group of five to six males and one female while walking around Target at the mall. The two females left the store and went to their father’s truck, and one of the males followed her and struck the truck with his hand before leaving in a waiting vehicle.

July 24 at 5:15 a.m.
Employees at Wawa, 100 block of Saxer Avenue, reported three males entered the store and stole items before leaving in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle on Powell Road and stopped it. A 20-year-old male from Philadelphia was identified and will be charged with Retail Theft. Two other males from Philadelphia, one being a juvenile, were identified and released.

July 24 at 9:34 a.m.
A resident of the 600 block of Hillborn Avenue reported sometime overnight someone entered the house and stole a purse which contained credit cards and a vehicle key. The resident found the purse in his driveway and realized his vehicle had been stolen. A short time after this report, the stolen vehicle was recovered on Ogden Road near North Chester Road in Swarthmore. Swarthmore Borough also had a burglary in the area which resulted in a stolen vehicle.
