football coach Tom Kline has stressed since the beginning of the season that many players would touch the ball. With junior Rob Murphy nursing a back injury that makes his status week-to-week, Kline has juniors Mike Dougherty, Cameron Durham, Barry Forster and Aaron Coyne to tote the ball.
“We’re lucky; we thought coming into the season we could get a lot of people a lot of touches,” Kline said. “Everyone we have is capable of getting quality reps. Early on in the season, the kids came up and told me that they wanted to help us win as best they could. They’ve made all of their reps count.
“They could get three or four plays, or 10 or 15 plays. I tell them make them all count. We’ll continue to go with this. We’re not in the mindset of committing to one person. We have a lot of personnel packages and I like the way it helps our offense right now. We’re in the playoffs. We’re playing for a home game, and we’ll see what happens.”
