The Sharif Abdullah Band Plays Vinyl Revival

The Sharif Abdullah Band brings their style of standard jazz, 70s funk, African-afro, salsa and samba to The Vault at Vinyl Revival on Saturday, August 22nd at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at vinylrevivalrecords.com or in-person up until show time. Event is BYOB.

Sharif Abdullah is a talented musician specializing in the bass guitar. Mr. Abdullah’s musicianship developed during the very early 1970s and his major influences included Joni Mitchell, Gil Scott-Heron, Ron Carter, Stanley Clarke, and Carlos Santana. Mr. Abdullah has guest performed with such noted musicians as Philly Joe Jones, Andy Bey, Byard Lancaster, and the New Afrikaans Griots.

The Abdullah band performed for 12 years for the ARTREACH Foundation in Philadelphia. Other local performances included events at the Chestnut Cabaret, The University of Pennsylvania, West Chester University, the Art Alliance and other art galleries.
