Springfield Crime Blotter: Assault, DUI, Theft, More

A Springfield man allegedly struck a police officer while authorities were investigating an assault incident. Details on this and more here.

Incidents included in the blotter occurred between Aug. 26 through Sept. 1.

Aug. 26, 3:57 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash in which the driver of a vehicle drove onto a property and into the house on the 600 block Hawarden Road. The driver of the vehicle, 49, of Upper Darby, was found to be intoxicated. He was treated for injuries and submitted to a blood test. Charges will be filed for DUI and Traffic Offenses. No one from the house was injured.

Aug. 26, 5:41 p.m.
Sindy Guillen, 40, of Bryn Mawr, was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after being observed at Target at the mall stealing over $380 worth of clothing. She was held for arraignment.

Aug. 27, 4:29 p.m.
Rakib Uddin, 33, of Morton, was arrested and charged with Public Drunkenness. Officers responded to the area of Bellevue Avenue and North Avenue and found Uddin sitting on a curb highly intoxicated. Witnesses had earlier stated the male was laying in the street holding a vehicle sideview mirror. He was unable to articulate anything and was taken into custody. He was later released to a friend.

Aug. 27, 7:34 p.m.
Officers were called to a home on the 300 block Ogden Place to investigate an assault that occurred inside. They found a female victim who suffered scratches and bruising. While speaking to the suspect of that assault, the suspect struck an officer with his hands. While attempting to take him into custody, he resisted and struck other officers before being subdued. Kenneth Morrissey, 58, of Springfield was charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault, Harassment, and Resisting Arrest. He was held for arraignment at Springfield Court.

Aug. 30, 9:54 a.m.
A resident of the 900 block Edgewood Drive reported a decorative planter was taken from the front yard of the property sometime overnight.

Aug. 31, 3:05 a.m.
While on patrol, Officer Cutcliff observed a vehicle pull into the Wawa lot 100 block Saxer Avnue being operated by a subject wanted on a warrant out of Tredyffrin Township. While making contact with the subject, a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine was found in his possession. Michael Marcone, 41, of Springfield, was taken into custody and charged with Drug Act violations. He was taken to arraignment at Springfield Court.

Aug. 31, 1033 hrs.
David Johnson, 36, of Morton, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault after an incident at the Vape Shop 400 block Baltimore Pike. Officers responded there and found a subject inside suffering from injuries to his face and head. Investigation revealed Johnson was the actor. Johnson was located a short distance away and taken into custody. He was held for arraignment.

Sept. 1, 2:51 p.m.
A resident of the 900 block Stoneybrook Drive reported finding a dent on the hood of his vehicle which occurred sometime overnight. The vehicle was parked on the street.

Sept. 1, 4:41 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported observing a male subject select and conceal several cans of baby formula valued at almost $200 and attempt to leave the store. He was stopped by security and provided a false name to them. Officers learned his identity was Marvin Lewis, 54, of Philadelphia. Lewis was taken into custody, charged with Retail Theft, and held for arraignment.
