Springfield Crime Blotter: Assault, Theft, DUI
Police said a Chester man punched a Target security guard after stealing electronics from the store. Details on this crime and more here.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Springfield Police issued their weekly crime blotter Monday, and we have the details.
Incidents included in the blotter occurred Dec. 30 and Dec. 31.

Dec. 30 at 1:37 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target Springfield Mall after a report of a shoplifter who had punched a security guard and ran from the store. Officers observed the subject outside hiding and apprehended him after a short foot chase. The subject was found to have stolen an arcade cabinet and computer Kano kit valued at over $200. Barry Williams, 47, of Chester was arrested and charged with Retail Theft, Simple Assault, and Resisting Arrest and held for arraignment.
Dec. 30 at 4:56 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash on the unit block Eagle Road in which a vehicle pulling out of a parking lot struck a vehicle moving on the road. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 51-year-old female from Broomall, was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. Charges for DUI and Traffic Offenses are pending.

Dec. 30 at 6:59 p.m.
A 29-year-old Brookhaven man was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after being observed at Target 800 block Baltimore Pike stealing over $450 worth of baby formula. He was stopped while loading the product into his vehicle outside the store.
Dec. 31 at 11:42 a.m.
Two vehicles along the 1300 block Kendall Road were reportedly broken into. An amount of cash and wallet was taken from one and nothing was found missing from the other. The wallet was found in a parking lot in Ridley a short distance away, but the cash was still missing.
Dec. 31 at 7:46 p.m.
A 47-year-old Upper Darby woman was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after stealing over $470 worth of DVDs and clothing from the Target at the mall. She was held for arraignment.
