Springfield Crime Blotter: Burglary, Stolen Signs, Assault, More

A woman was punched in the face by a man during an altercation on Saxer Avenue Sunday, police said. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 2 and Nov. 8.

Nov. 2 at 9:16 a.m.
A resident of the 100 block Cascade Road reported six political signs stolen from the property sometime during the previous weekend.

Nov. 4 at 9:09 a.m.
Two unlocked vehicles were entered on the 100 block South Bishop Avenue. A vehicle jump box was stolen from one.

Nov. 3 at 2:30 p.m.
A 29-year-old old female from Philadelphia was arrested and will be charged with Retail Theft after being observed by Target security stealing over $170 worth of clothing.

Nov. 6 at 2:02 p.m.
Macy’s security reported a female had stolen a large amount of fragrance and fled the store. They recovered most but she did get away with a quantity. The female was a suspect in a prior theft from the store in August. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Nov. 6 at 6:25 p.m.
Several subjects from Springfield, Clifton Heights, and Upper Darby, will be charged with Parks
Violations, UAD, and Public Drunkenness after being found in Williams Park under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

Nov. 7 at 8:06 a.m.
Officers were called to the Stanley Kup Inn to investigate a burglary which occurred overnight. A cash register was found smashed and money missing along with alcohol and cigarettes. Det. Devaney is investigating.

Nov. 7 at 9:41 a.m.
A resident of the 300 block Summit Road reported two political signs stolen from the front lawn overnight.

Nov. 8 at 1:14 a.m.
Officers were called to the 100 block Saxer Avenue to investigate an assault. A female reported there was a verbal altercation among a few people on the block, and she was struck in the face by a punch by one of the male subjects involved. Officers located two males in a nearby parking lot, and one was identified as the suspect. Investigation is continuing by Det. Devaney.
