Springfield Crime Blotter: Car Break In, DUI Hit-And-Run, More

Police said a 46-year-old Woodlyn man was under the influence when he was involved in a hit-and-run on Providence Road.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 8 and Sept. 11.

Sept. 8 at 6:32 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Parham Road reported that at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 someone entered his vehicle parked in the driveway and stole a pair of sunglasses. Det. Nutley is investigating.

Sept. 8 at 8:25 p.m.
Officers investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred on the 1200 block of Providence Road found the driver of the striking vehicle on the unit block of Baltimore Pike. The driver of the striking vehicle had struck a vehicle on Providence Road and also drove through Crowell Park damaging a section of fence before continuing on to Baltimore Pike. The 46-year-old male from Woodlyn was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. He submitted to a blood test and later released to family.

Sept. 11 at 8:30 p.m.
Officers found damage to the railing at Old Central School consisting of posts being knocked out of their slots. This is the second occurrence in a week. A large group of juveniles were in the area at the time. Investigation continuing.
