Springfield Crime Blotter: Credit Card Theft, Vandalism, More

Police said a man used another person's credit card after taking the person's dropped wallet. See details on this and more incidents here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — The most recent crime blotter from Springfield Township Police has been released.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 24 and Aug. 29.

Aug. 24 at 1:05 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target Store at the mall to investigate the theft of a wallet. The victim dropped his wallet which was picked up by a male outside the entrance area. He confronted the male, but the male ignored him and walked to the parking lot. The victim later found his wallet under a vehicle in the lot, but a credit card was missing. Responding officers located the suspect inside the mall, and the credit card was found inside a trash can. The suspect, 30 from Upper Darby, was taken into custody and identified. Charges are pending

Aug. 25 at 10:31 p.m.
A 30-year-old Drexel Hill woman was arrested and charged with Public Drunkenness after being found intoxicated and a danger in the area of Baltimore Pike and Leamy Avenue. She was taken into custody and held until sober.

Aug. 26 at 3:26 p.m.
A 61-yearr-old Springfield man was charged with Public Drunkenness after being found unconscious on the SEPTA tracks at Thomson Avenue. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Aug. 26 at 10:56 p.m.
Three males from Springfield were observed inside a vehicle parked in the municipal lot behind Wawa on Saxer Avenue. The males possessed beer and a small amount of marijuana. All were turned over to their parents, and charges for Underage Drinking will be filed.

Aug. 29 at 8:04 p.m.
Employees at Rite Aid on Saxer Avenue reported three male juveniles entered the store and knocked numerous items off display shelves before leaving and meeting with a larger group outside. According to a witness, this was the second night in a row this occurred. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
