Springfield Crime Blotter: Drugs, Fighting, Theft, More

A 43-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with assault after police said he attacked a woman outside an East Woodland Avenue business.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Jan. 18 and Jan. 23.

Jan. 18 at 1:46 p.m.
A resident of the unit block North Norwinden Drive reported the catalytic converter had been removed from her Honda vehicle sometime in the last few days. It appeared to have been cut out.

Jan. 18 at 7:16 p.m.
Officers responded to Urban Air, 1200 block of East Woodland Avenue, to investigate a fight. Officers learned that a male and female who had gone to the business together with children had gotten into an argument. They went outside the business, and the male attacked the female causing injury. Timothy Borges, 34, of Philadelphia, was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with assault and related offenses and held for arraignment.

Jan. 19 at 8:58 p.m.
A 35-year-old female from Philadelphia was taken into custody for stealing electronic merchandise from the Target Store, 1200 Baltimore Pike. Charges for Retail Theft were filed against the woman.

Jan. 20 at 9:39 p.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Bergman observed a subject in the lot of the Days Inn 600 block of Baltimore Pike unsteady of his feet. He was found to be intoxicated and was found to possess a quantity of heroin, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Timothy Stevens 26, of Lansdale, was taken into custody. He was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Montgomery County and turned over to them. Drug charges were filed.

Jan. 21 at 11:48 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target Store 800 block of Baltimore Pike after security reported a male subject had walked out of the store with two televisions not paid for. Ofc. Graff located the suspect inside a vehicle on the 700 block of Baltimore Pike and recovered the televisions. Charges will be filed for Retail Theft against the 26 year old from Philadelphia.

Jan. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
Officers responded to the Best Buy store 600 block of Baltimore Pike for a report of a disorderly subject arguing with staff. Upon arrival, they made contact with an 18-year-old male from Darby who threatened employees, yelled obscenities, and acted belligerent. The male was escorted outside the business and taken into custody. He was found to have a quantity of cocaine in his possession. Charges for Disorderly Conduct and Drug Possession will be filed.
