Springfield Crime Blotter: DUI, Theft, Drugs, More
Police said a Springfield woman with a warrant for her arrests was found to be in possession of heroin and paraphernalia.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between May 23 and May 29.

May 23 at 12:27 p.m.
Officers responded to the Walgreen’s Store for a report of a male who stole over $300 worth of electronic items and left walking towards Upper Darby. Upper Darby PD stopped the subject close by, and he was identified as the thief. Taron Perkins, 23, pf Philadelphia, was taken into custody and found to have an active arrest warrant out of Montgomery County. He was later turned over to Montgomery County Sheriffs and charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
May 26 at 10:46 a.m.
A 33-year-old female from Springfield was stopped on the 300 block Butler Road on suspicion she was wanted on charges from Delaware County. During the stop, she was found in possession of a quantity of heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was turned over to Delaware County Sheriff because of the warrant, and drug charges will be filed.

May 26 at 2:37 p.m.
Officers found a male subject in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle at the Springfield Square North Shopping Center, 1000 block of Baltimore Pike, unconscious. The male, 29, of Upper Darby, was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. A blood test was refused, and charges for DUI will be filed. He was later turned over to family.
May 28 at 2:01 p.m.
Books a Million Springfield Mall reported the theft of multiple graphic novels worth hundreds by a male who fled through the mall.
May 29 at 8:16 a.m.
Officers investigated a crash on State Road at Collins Drive in which a vehicle failed to stop for a red signal and struck another vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle, 49, of Broomall, was found to be intoxicated on medication. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries and submitted to a blood test. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses are pending.
May 29 at 11:12 a.m.
Officers responded to Macy’s for a report that a male had stolen a watch set and fragrance and ran from the store. Officers located the male, and he was identified as Dozia Blakey, 53, of Philadelphia. The merchandise was recovered, and the male was taken into custody. He was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment before being transported to Delaware County Prison.
May 29 at 6:24 p.m.
Officers responded to a property on the 600 block of Sherman Road for a report of an unwanted male who was loitering on the property. The male was told by the property owners to leave and not return. A short time later the male returned and was arrested for trespassing. Richard J. Prager, 29, of Media was charged with Defiant Trespass and held for arraignment. He was later transported to Delaware County Prison.
