Springfield Crime Blotter: DUI, Theft, Stolen Vehicle, More

Police said someone brought their own vehicle jack to the Conicelli and stole catalytic converters on Christmas Eve. See more details here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Springfield Police issued their weekly crime blotter Monday, and we have the details.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 23 and Dec. 29.

Dec. 23 at 3 p.m.
A resident of the 600 block Andrew Road reported his vehicle stolen from the street. The victim reported observing his Kia vehicle being driven on Andrew Road towards Westfield Road and believed it was being driven by someone in the family until he realized it had been stolen. Det. Nutley is investigating.

Dec. 23 at 9:44 p.m.
Officers observed five juvenile males loitering in the area of the 400 block Foster Drive after clearing a complaint of a disorderly group inside Memorial Park. While investigating the males, three tried to leave the area and one of them needed assistance from a friend to stand up. All five were found to be intoxicated and were taken into custody. All were charged with Underage Drinking and released to family.

Dec. 24 at 11 a.m.
Four vehicles which were in for service at the Conicelli dealership 800 block Baltimore Pike had their catalytic converters removed and taken. Surveillance video shows the thieves near the vehicles at approximately 3 a.m. using a self-brought hand jack.

Dec. 24 at 5:48 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash in which a vehicle driving along the 200 block Saxer Avenue struck a parked vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for DUI. A 34-year-old female from Springfield did submit to a blood test and will be charged with DUI and Traffic Offenses.

Dec. 28 at 7:40 p.m.
Officers responded to the AT&T store 1100 Baltimore Pike for a panic alarm activation. Responding officers observed a vehicle driving recklessly from the area which crashed into a fire hydrant near the Bob’s Mobil station. Three males exited that vehicle and ran from the scene. Officers learned that two males had entered the AT&T prior to the crash and stole six iPhones from display by removing them with wire cutters. Assisting officers located two males hiding near dumpsters in the Target lot. These two were identified as the males in the theft and taken into custody. They were also found to be two of the three subjects who had been in the crashed vehicle. Keyonn Vincent, 18, of Philadelphia and a 16-year-old male from Camden, New Jersey, were taken into custody and charged with Theft and related offenses. Multiple cell phones were recovered from the males and the vehicle.

Dec. 28 at 8:39 p.m.
Macy’s at the mall security reported a female actor on two consecutive days stole numerous pairs of Uggs shoes from the Women’s Department. On this date, the female exited the store and left in a waiting vehicle. Det. Nutley is investigating.

Dec. 29 at 7:38 a.m.
A resident of the 500 block Glendale Circle reported her vehicle stolen from the street in front of her house. Investigation shows her Toyota Rav4 was stolen by a male subject at about 7:30 a.m.
