Springfield Crime Blotter: Fighting, DUI Crash, Theft More

A 34-year-old man from Aston was taken in on suspicion of DUI after police said he crashed into the back of another vehicle.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 23 and Sept. 26.

Sept. 23 at 11:09 a.m.
Officers responded to the CVS, 700 block of Baltimore Pike, after employees called to report a male subject had stolen allergy medication and fled the store. Det. Nutley is investigating.

Sept. 24 at 3:25 a.m.
Sgt. Welsh observed a vehicle smashed up against the Walgreens building unit block of Baltimore Pike. Upon investigation, he found a male in the driver seat of the vehicle unconscious. The male, 21, of Drexel Hill, was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. He submitted to a blood test and was released to family. Charges for DUI are pending.

Sept. 24 at 8:43 p.m.
Officers are investigating a fight that occurred inside Williams Park involving two juvenile males who reportedly were engaged in a fight with a third juvenile male. Charges are pending the outcome.

Sept. 25 at 4:47 p.m.
Christopher McNeill 55, unknown address, was taken into custody and charged with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct after it was reported he was harassing customers inside the Ulta Store at the mall. He was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Chester City for assault and was later turned over to Chester Police.

Sept. 25 at 5:37 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash on Baltimore Pike at West Avenue in which a vehicle rear ended another vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle, 34, of Aston, was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was later released to family, and charges for DUI are pending.

Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
Officers responded to Macy’s at the mall after being called by employees who reported a male subject had stolen numerous items of Polo style clothing. The suspect, 31, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and identified. He was later released, and charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
