Springfield Crime Blotter: Meth, Thefts, Assault

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Feb. 15 and Feb. 18.

Feb. 15 at 11:12 a.m.
Officers responded to the Target Store at the mall to investigate a male subject who stole over $596 worth of merchandise including over the counter medication. He was also found to possess drug paraphernalia. A 25-year-old from Devon was arrested and charged with Retail Theft and drug offenses.
Feb. 15 at 10:39 p.m.
Officers went to the area of Ashwood Road and Maplewood Road to check on an occupied vehicle. They found a male and female inside the vehicle. The male was found to have an active arrest warrant from Logan Twp., New Jersey for assault. Ryan Keech, 19, of Havertown, was taken into custody and later taken to Delaware County Prison to wait extradition to New Jersey.

Feb. 18 at 11:26 p.m.
A call was received about a possible overdose inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the CVS, 300 block Baltimore Pike. Officers responded and found a female intoxicated on opioids. She was found to have suspected methamphetamine in her possession along with drug paraphernalia. She was checked by medical personnel and then taken into custody. Haley Ryder, 27, of Broomall, was charged with drug offenses and held for arraignment.
Feb. 18 at 12:38 p.m.
A 30-yearr-old man from Philadelphia was arrested after being stopped for stealing two hoverboards from the Target Store at the mall. Target security said this was the second time he had stolen hoverboards. Matthews was charged with Retail Theft.
