Springfield Crime Blotter: Shooting, Vandalism, Theft, More

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on North Bishop Avenue the evening of June 6. See details on this incident and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between June 6 and June 12.

June 6 at 9:05 p.m.
Officers responded to the 600 block of North Bishop Avenue for a report of multiple gunshots being fired. Officers located three shell casings on the ground along the street. They learned that the shots had come from an occupant of an older model pickup truck, which continued to drive towards Sherman Road. No property damage was found, nor were any injuries reported. Det. Nutley is investigating.

June 7 at 1:29 a.m.
Two juvenile females were stopped for a curfew violation along the 200 block of North Bishop Avenue. One from Havertown and one from Ridley were turned over to their family and will be charged with violating curfew.

June 7 at 11:22 a.m.
A vehicle in for service was reported stolen from McGarrigle’s Automotive, unit block of East Woodland Avenue, sometime overnight. This vehicle was recovered from the 800 block of Westfield Road on June 12.

June 8 at 7:47 a.m.
A resident of the 700 block of Timber Trail Lane reported that he put out a set of golf clubs on the sidewalk in preparation to play a round, and when he returned to leave, the clubs were gone.

June 8 at 1:42 p.m.
The owner of a vehicle he parked in the shopping center of Hobby Lobby, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, reported the catalytic converter was cut from the vehicle sometime after June 6 at. June 9 at 7:38 p.m. Two females from Upper Darby will be charged with Disorderly Conduct after they engaged in a physical altercation inside a restaurant on the 900 block of East Woodland Avenue

June 9 at 8:35 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block of North State Road reported someone smashed out the rear window of her vehicle while it was parked on the street.

June 10 at 11:35 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash in which a vehicle struck two parked cars on the 400 block of Indian Rock Drive. Witnesses reported the driver left the scene walking away. Responding officers located the driver nearby and found him to be intoxicated. The 23-year-old male from Springfield was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. He was later released to a friend. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses are pending.

June 11 at 2:28 a.m.
A 48-year-old male from Springfield will be charged with Public Drunkenness after he entered a house on the 200 block of Sedgewood Road and went to sleep. He was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody.

June 11 at 2:53 p.m.
Antionette Brown, 34, of New Castle, Delaware, was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after Macy’s security at the mall reported observing her steal over $200 worth of clothing. She was also suspected of stealing from the store on several other occasions recently. She was held for arraignment and released after posting bail.

June 12 at 10:30 a.m.
A resident of the 600 block of North Bishop Avenue reported his vehicle had been entered in the driveway sometime overnight, and a small amount of money stolen.

June 12 at 3:20 p.m.
A resident of the 600 block of Hawarden Road reported sometime overnight someone entered and rummaged through her vehicle parked on the street. Nothing was taken.

June 12 at 5:10 p.m.
A member of the Springfield CC Pool, 400 block of West Sproul Road, reported someone smashed the window of her vehicle and stole her wallet from the center console.
