Springfield Crime Blotter: Stabbing, Assault, Theft, More

A teenage girl is being charged with assault after police said she stabbed a coworker in the leg. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 2 and Aug. 8.

Aug. 2 at 9:33 p.m.
Police investigated an incident in which a male victim reported being accosted on the unit block of North Brookside Road. The male reported that his bike was then stolen by two males who were in a vehicle. As the victim and a friend left the area using Springfield Road, they were again approached by the same two males. The males forced the victim into their vehicle and drove to a local park where they stole the male’s backpack and physically assaulted him. Officers were able to identify the suspects as a juvenile male from Morton and Zachary Priestley, 22, of Eddystone. On Aug. 3 the juvenile was taken into custody after being observed in Springfield. He was charged and transported to a juvenile facility. An arrest warrant was obtained for Priestley, and he was taken into custody at his home on Aug. 6. He was arraigned and transported to Delaware County Prison.

Aug. 4 at 11:05 a.m.
A 40-year-old male from Glenolden was taken into custody after being observed loitering in the area of the 900 block of Greenbriar Lane intoxicated. Witnesses reported the male had been in the area all morning acting erratically. He appeared under the influence of narcotics. He was later released to family and charged with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct.

Aug. 5 at 3:23 p.m.
A 68-year-old Malvern woman was arrested after it was reported she had stolen over $180 worth of clothing from Macy’s at the mall. It was also found she had an active warrant out of Montgomery County for Retail Theft. She was charged with Retail Theft and turned over to Montgomery County.

Aug. 6 at 2:28 p.m.
Macy’s security at the mall reported a male was in custody for stealing over $350 worth of jewelry and shoes. Officers arrested the 68-year-old male from Collingdale. He was later released and will be charged with Retail Theft.

Aug. 8 at 11:03 a.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Wheatsheaf Road reported juveniles damaged flowers on his front lawn sometime during the day Aug. 6.

Aug. 8 at 5:17 p.m.
A 17-year-old female from Drexel Hill will be charged with Assault after she was involved in a fight with a co-worker at the business on the 1000 block of Baltimore Pike. The female allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife during an altercation. The female was taken into custody and turned over to her mother. The victim was treated for an injury to her leg.
