Springfield Crime Blotter: Stolen Car, DUI, Theft, More

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday, and we have the information.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 31 and Sept. 5.

Aug. 31 at 5:13 a.m.
Sometime overnight a work truck parked at the municipal lot on the 200 block of Saxer Avenue was broken into and tools stolen.
Sept. 2 at 9:58 a.m.
A 49-year-old Chester man was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after employees at CVS, 700 block of South Chester Road, reported he stole $75 worth of merchandise from the store. Responding officers located him in the lot after the theft. He was taken into custody and later released.

Sept. 2 at 1:04 p.m.
Officers were called to the Target Store 800 block of Baltimore Pike for a report of a male subject who had just stolen an air fryer and left in a waiting vehicle. Ofc. Paytas observed the vehicle on Baltimore Pike and stopped it. He recovered the air fryer inside in the possession of Richard Morinelli, 47, of Glen Moore. Morinelli was taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft. He was also found to have an active arrest warrant for a state parole violation and turned over to PA Probation Officers.
Sept. 5 at 10:16 a.m.
Two males were stopped at the bus stop at the mall after it was reported that they had both stolen items from the Target at the mall. John Sharpe, 38, stole Red Bull from display and left the store without paying, and David Dingas, 42, stole a quantity of allergy medicine. Both were taken into custody and held for arraignment. They were later transported to Delaware County Prison.
Sept. 5 at 11:14 a.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Parham Road reported sometime overnight someone entered his vehicle and stole a computer and sunglasses.
Sept. 5 at 2:09 p.m.
A resident reported his vehicle was stolen from the 200 block of Wells Lane sometime overnight. The vehicle was a 2015 Nissan Sentra.
Sept. 5 at 9:32 p.m.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Philmar Court to investigate an unconscious subject inside a vehicle. Officers found the driver of the vehicle unconscious inside the running vehicle. The driver, 32 years old from Folcroft, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. He was later released, and charges for DUI and traffic offenses are pending.
