Springfield Crime Blotter: Stolen Car, Theft, DUI, More
Police said a 23-year-old man is being charged with DUI after police found him in bushes after crashing a vehicle on Wallingford Road.
PHILADELPHIA — Police in Springfield Township released their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incident in the blotter occurred between Aug. 3 and Aug. 9.

Aug. 3, 6:01 p.m.
Officers responded to the 1500 block Wallingford Road to investigate a crash in which a vehicle struck a guide rail and then went into the wooded area. The driver of the vehicle fled from the crash on foot. A search for the driver led police to finding him laying in bushes on an assisted living property nearby. He was found to be intoxicated and in need of medical attention. The 23-year-old male from Wallingford was transported to a hospital. Charges for DUI are pending.
Aug. 5, 6:27 p.m.
While on patrol along the Baltimore Pike, officers checked the registration of a vehicle. It was learned the vehicle had just been reported stolen in Media Borough. The vehicle was stopped, and the occupants turned over to Media Police who recovered the vehicle.

Aug. 8, 12:27 p.m.
Two patrons of the LA Fitness 800 block Baltimore Pike had personal items taken from their lockers while they worked out. One’s keys to his vehicle were also used to enter the vehicle and remove a wallet. Several attempts at using the victims’ credit cards were done in the area. Det. Nutley is investigating.
Aug. 8, 4:03 p.m.
A 23-year-old man from Darby was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after being stopped for manipulating the price of a refrigerator from $92 to $7 at the self-checkout registers at Target 800 block Baltimore Pike. It was learned that over the past few days he had stolen over $1,550 worth of merchandise from Target. He was taken for arraignment.
Aug. 9, 11:39 a.m.
Macy’s at the mall called to report a male subject had stolen over $350 worth of clothing and fled from the store. Officers located the male in Smedley Park and took him into custody. A 38-year-old man from Philadelphia was charged with Retail Theft and taken to arraignment.
