Springfield Crime Blotter: Stolen Vehicle, DUI, Theft, More
Three unlocked vehicles were entered sometime during the evening; one on the East Leamy Avenue and two on South Rolling Road.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township released their most recent crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18.

Oct. 12 at 6:13 a.m.
A resident of the 200 block Powell Road reported her vehicle was stolen from the street in front of her House. On Oct. 13 at 11:54 a.m. we were notified by the Harrisonburg, Virginia police who found the vehicle and a male subject nearby who was subsequently arrested. The male was in possession of a key to the vehicle. The male arrested had been identified earlier in the morning Oct. 12 on Baltimore Pike in Springfield. Investigation is continuing.

Three unlocked vehicles were entered sometime during the evening; one on the 300 block East Leamy Avenue and two on the 100 block South Rolling Road. Nothing was reported missing.

Oct. 14 at 1406 hrs.
A 69-year-old man from Chester will be charged with Public Drunkenness after he was observed stumbling off a SEPTA bus at the Springfield Mall and fell on a sidewalk. He was in possession of a bottle of vodka and appeared intoxicated. He was treated by medical personnel for a laceration on his face and transported to a hospital.
Oct. 14 at 7:49 p.m.
Macy’s security reported three females inside the store gathering a large amount of clothing. Employees approached the females to assist and the females threatened the employees. As the females ran out of the store with the merchandise and to a waiting vehicle, one turned towards an employee and held up what appeared to be a stun gun. The vehicle then fled through the parking lot. Det. McNeely is investigating. On Oct. 16, Delaware State Police arrested three females who fit the description of the three for an incident in Delaware.
Oct. 16 at 12:05 a.m.
A resident of the 100 block Kent Road reported hearing a loud noise and then finding a rear window smashed. A tennis ball was found on the deck which may have caused the damage.
Oct. 17 at 2:56 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Lord observed a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Sproul Road with the driver apparently asleep. The vehicle did not move for several cycles, and contact was then made with the driver. The 28-year-old male from Chester was found intoxicated and arrested. He submitted to a blood test and was later turned over to a friend. Charges for DUI are pending.
Oct. 18 at 4:45 p.m.
Target security 800 block Baltimore Pike reported a male had stolen over $500 worth of merchandise and fled the store. Security followed the male to a bus stop on Baltimore Pike and watched him enter a bus. Responding officers entered the bus, and the male fled on foot across Baltimore Pike before being apprehended. Numerous amounts of over the counter medication from Target was recovered from the subject. Matthew Turvey, 32, of Clifton Heights, was taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft. He is also a suspect in previous thefts from Target and was found to have an active arrest warrant from Bucks County for Retail Theft
