Springfield Crime Blotter: Stolen Vehicle, Guitar Theft, More

Police said six transport vehicles at Keystone Quality Transport had catalytic converters removed sometime overnight last week.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Springfield Township Police issued their weekly crime blotter Monday, and we have the details.

The blotter features incidents that occurred between Jan. 15 and Jan. 19.

Jan. 15 at 7:01 a.m.
Keystone Quality Transport reported that six transport vehicles had catalytic converters removed sometime overnight. The vehicles had been parked along the fence line near Greenbriar Park.

Jan. 15 at 8:39 a.m.
Officers were called to the area of State Rd. and Weymouth Rd. for a report of three subjects appearing intoxicated walking along the highway and one of whom urinated in public. A 22-year-old man was found intoxicated and was arrested and charged with Public Drunkenness. One other subject was found to be okay to continue his journey and the other not located.

Jan. 15 at 3:53 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported a male subject using a tool to remove security devices from video games in the electronics department. Officers arrived and found the subject exiting a bathroom. The subject, a 34-year-old King of Prussia man, was found to have video games concealed on his body. He was arrested and charged with Retail Theft and related offenses and held for arraignment.

Jan. 15 at 4:38 p.m.
Officers were called to Springfield Music unit block Baltimore Pike for a report of a theft of a guitar. A male subject had entered the store, selected an acoustic guitar and fled the area in a vehicle. A similar theft had occurred at George’s Music in November 2019. Det. Devaney is investigating.

Jan. 16 at 12:54 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target at the mall for a report of two subjects stealing merchandise. Upon arrival one of the subject was found to have left the store. A female subject involved was stopped and found to have stolen over $75 worth of jeans and a jacket. She was also found to be in possession of a quantity of crack, pills, and marijuana. Michelle Hurt, 29, of Philadelphia was arrested and charged with Retail Theft and Drug Offenses and held for arraignment.

Jan. 17 at 7:01 a.m.
A resident of the 100 block Morton Road reported her vehicle was stolen from her driveway sometime overnight by unknown means. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Jan. 17 at 4:21 p.m.
A resident of the 100 block Hillview Drive called to report arriving home and observing an unknown female standing in her driveway. The female asked the resident if someone was home and then disappeared off the property. The resident then found her back door had been forced open. No one was found inside, and nothing was found missing from the property. Det. McCarthy is investigating.

Jan. 18 at 9:38 p.m.
Officers responded for a report of a fight in front of the Outback Steakhouse 1100 block Baltimore Pike. Upon arrival of police, a vehicle containing those involved was leaving the parking lot and was stopped. A female inside the vehicle was bleeding from her hand and reported that an acquaintance she had been eating with became upset when she didn’t leave her seat in a timely manner. When she entered her vehicle to leave, the male approached and punched her friend through the vehicle window and smashed a bottle against the car which cut the victim’s hand. Det. McCarthy is investigating.

Jan. 19 at 9:02 a.m.
A resident of the 300 block Lewis Road reported sometime overnight someone entered his vehicle parked in the driveway and stole a wallet.
