Springfield Crime Blotter: Theft, DUI, Vandalism, More

A home on the 900 block of Stewart Avenue had a lug nut thrown through its glass front door, police said. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their most recent crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 10 and Nov. 14.

Nov. 10 at 9:24 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, for a report of a subject who stole a numerous amount of baby formula and other items. The subject left and fled in a vehicle. Officers in the area stopped the vehicle and identified the driver who was a 31-year-old from Chester. The male was identified by Target employees as the thief. Recovered from the trunk of his vehicle was a large amount of Target merchandise. The male will be charged with Retail Theft.

Nov. 10 at 3:55 p.m.
An employee at Macy’s at the mall reported that after work she found someone had removed the catalytic converter from her vehicle which was parked in the lot.

Nov. 12 at 12:14 a.m.
A resident of the 900 block of Stewart Avenue reported an object had been thrown through his front door damaging glass. Officers found a lug nut wrench had been thrown through the glass door. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Nov. 13 at 12:45 p.m.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Baltimore Pike to investigate a driver of a vehicle who was semi-conscious. They located the 36-year-old female from Drexel Hill and found her to be intoxicated. They also located heroin paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Witnesses said the female had been stopped in traffic slumped over the driver steering wheel before they assisted her to a parking lot. The female was given medical treatment and transported to a hospital. She will be charged with DUI and drug offenses.

Nov. 14 at 1:40 a.m.
Officers observed a vehicle being driven with two flat front tires on the unit block of North State Road. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was found to be intoxicated and under the influence of marijuana. The 22-year-old female from Drexel Hill was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. She was later turned over to family, and charges for DUI are pending.

Nov. 14 at 4:21 p.m.
Two juvenile females from Chester were taken into custody after employees at Macy’s reported they had stolen over $200 worth of clothing. They were later turned over the family, and charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
