Springfield Crime Blotter: Thefts, Illegal Dumping

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
The blotter features incidents that occurred between March 30 and April 4.

March 30 at 2:05 p.m.
Security at Target, 800 block Baltimore Pike, observed a female select items of clothing and conceal the clothing in a handbag. As they attempted to stop her, she dropped the clothing and fled to a waiting vehicle. The clothing recovered was valued at over $150. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
March 31 at 4:06 p.m.
A resident reported observing two males illegally dumping large tree trimmings in Netherwood Park. Det. McNeely is investigating.

April 1 at 7:48 p.m.
Employees at BJ’s Wholesale reported a male and female walked out with a vacuum cleaner. Witnesses said the couple had produced a receipt at the door which wasn’t accurate. They left the property in a vehicle. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
April 4 at 12:27 p.m.
A resident of the 100 block Gleaves Road reported sometime around 5 a.m. someone entered her vehicle and stole a pair of sunglasses.
April 4 at 3 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block Yale Avenue reported observing two males in a black truck dump yard clippings in the PECO property behind the houses. Det. McNeely is investigating.
