SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter, and we have the details here.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 9 and Dec. 14.

Dec. 9 at 5:48 p.m.
A theft from vehicle occurred in the parking lot of Church Road Park, 1200 Church Road. The victim discovered a window smashed in her 2017 Nissan Maxima. Stolen was a Tumi messenger bag, valued at $700, and gym bag.
Dec. 10 at 2:32 a.m.
A guest at the Parkway Inn, 675 Baltimore Pike, reported a robbery. The victim and a female acquaintance met at the motel. The victim used the bathroom and when he came out, he was sprayed with pepper spray. The female fled the room with the victim’s pants and wallet. Det. Dan McNeely is investigating.

Dec. 10 at 6:45 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. A 39-year-old from Garnet Valley man was observed filling a shopping cart with baby formula and attempting to leave the store without paying. He was detained by security with $424 in formula. Bond was turned over to police and charged with Retail Theft. Detective Dan McNeely is handling the case.
Dec. 10 at 8:56 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a second theft of baby formula. A male and a female were observed loading a shopping cart with baby formula and attempting to leave the store without paying. The female left the store and the male was approached by security. She threw a car seat with an infant inside at security and fled the store. An unidentified female returned to take custody of the child. Det. Dan McNeely is investigating.
Dec. 11 at 11:12 a.m.
While investigating a vehicle crash in the 400 block of West Springfield Road, officers determined one of the driver’s was under the influence of alcohol. The driver, 31 years old from Philadelphia, was arrested for DUI and released to a family member. Det. Bridget McCarthy is handling the case.
Dec. 11 at 12:07 p.m.
Macy’s, 1250 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. Roshinda Johnson, 49, of Brookhaven, was observed concealing jackets, jewelry and other items and attempting to leave the store without paying. She was detained by security with $1,558 in merchandise. Johnson was turned over to police and charged with Retail Theft. Det. Jim Devaney is handling the case.
Dec. 11 at 7:06 p.m.
While investigating a vehicle crash in the 400 block of Beatty Road, officers determined one of the driver’s was under the influence of alcohol. The driver, 57 years old from Springfield, was arrested for DUI and released to a family member. Det. Dan McNeely is handling the case.
Dec. 12 at 6:16 a.m.
A theft from vehicle occurred in the parking lot of the Springfield Shopping Center. The victim discovered a window smashed in her 2017 Kia, which was parked near the UFC Gym. A tote bag was removed which contained her wallet, driver’s license, credit/debit cards and $120 in cash. Det. Jim Devaney is investigating.
Dec. 12 at 11:05 a.m.
A resident from the 500 block of Sherman Road reported his car tire slashed. There are no suspects at this time. Det. Bridget McCarthy is investigating.
Dec. 12 at 12:43 p.m.
Macy’s, 1250 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. A 23-year-old man from Chester was observed concealing multiple items of active wear from the men’s department. He was detained by security with $266 in merchandise. Davis was turned over to police and charged with Retail Theft. Det. Bridget McCarthy is handling the case.
Dec. 12 at 1:27 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. A 25-year-old woman from Linwood was observed loading a shopping cart with baby formula and attempting to leave the store without paying. She was detained by security with $104 in formula. Green-Edwards was turned over to police and cited for Retail Theft.
Dec. 12 at 12:30 a.m.
Report of an intoxicated male detained by security at the Springfield Country Club. A 39-year-old man from Kennett Square was seen removing another patron’s keys from the valet board and entering their vehicle. Security was able to remove him from the vehicle. He was intoxicated and uncooperative. He was turned over to police and held overnight to await sobriety. He was cited for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct, and released to a family member.
Dec. 12 at 2:45 p.m.
The Wine & Spirit Shop, 149 Baltimore Pike, reported a theft. Employees observed a male exit the store with a bottle of unpaid liquor valued at $82. Det. Dan McNeely is investigating.
Dec. 14 at 5:31 p.m.
Justice for Girls, 400 South State Road, reported a theft. Employees reported a male and a female entered the store. As the male distracted employees, the female stole $600 in clothing from a display table. Both left the store on foot. Det. Dan McNeely is investigating.
