Springfield Crime Blotter: Underage Drinking, Guns, Theft, More

Police said a 32-year-old New Jersey man was charged with DUI and drug and firearms offenses on Nov. 20. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 16 and Nov. 22.

Nov. 16 at 5:22 p.m.
Target Store security reported a male subject stole two pieces of electronic merchandise valued at over $400 and left the store. Det. Devaney is investigating.

Nov. 17 at 9:23 a.m.
A resident on the 400 block Kent Road reported a package was stolen after delivery from the front porch area of the property.

Nov. 19 at 10:07 p.m.
A resident of the 100 block North highland Road reported he observed a male subject inside his vehicle and upon being confronted the male fled and got into another vehicle and left the area. The resident found his car stereo had been tampered with.

Nov. 20 at 11:28 a.m.
Officers investigated a vehicle crash on the 100 block North State Road in which a vehicle struck another from behind. The operator of the striking vehicle was found to be intoxicated on marijuana and also possessed a firearm. Dante Watson, 32, of Camden, NJ, was taken into custody, charged with DUI, Drug offenses, and Firearms offenses and held for arraignment.

Nov. 20 at 9:48 p.m.
Officers responded to a residence on the 400 block Parham Road to investigate a possible underage drinking party. Investigation found numerous juveniles inside the house consuming alcoholic beverages. Seven juveniles will be charged with Underage Drinking. All were released to family.

Nov. 21 at 3:25 p.m.
Officers are investigating a fight that occurred at Williams Park in which a male was attacked by another male on the basketball court. Multiple charges are pending, and Det. McCarthy is investigating.

Nov. 22 at 12:49 a.m.
A resident on the 300 block East Springfield Road reported a male was loitering on her property. Officers located the subject, 25-year-old male from Aston, standing at the front door of the house. The male was intoxicated and unable to answer questions about why he was on the property. He was taken into custody and later released to family. Charges for Loitering and Prowling and Public Drunkenness will be filed.
