Springfield Crime Blotter: Van Break-In, Theft, Disorder, More

Police said a van on the 200 block of Powell Road had tools stolen from his van over the weekend. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 10 and Aug. 15.

Aug. 10 at 11:32 a.m.
While on patrol in the area of State Road at Sproul Road., Ofc. Dunkle came upon a SEPTA bus in which a passenger was acting disorderly. The bus operator reported the female was not paying her fare and yelling and screaming profanities inside. The female was found to have two active arrest warrants from Montgomery County and Delaware County and taken into custody. The 40-year-old from Philadelphia was turned over to Montgomery County Sheriffs, and charges for Disorderly Conduct will be filed.

Aug. 10 at 11:32 a.m.
Springfield Mall security reported following a male subject who had stolen merchandise from Books a Million. The male then went into Spencer’s and stole merchandise. Responding officers located the male and recovered the merchandise. The 44-year-old male from Chester was taken into custody. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Aug. 13 at 3:40 p.m.
An employee of the Springfield Beverage Store, 600 block of Baltimore Pike, reported her cell phone and case were stolen from the counter inside the store.

Aug. 15 at 10:54 p.m.
A resident of the 200 block of Powell Road reported his van had been broken into and several tools were stolen sometime over the weekend.
