SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between June 20 and June 26.

June 20 at 10:58 a.m.
Officers observed a vehicle displaying an expired registration plate on the 400 block of Baltimore Pike. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver observed acting suspiciously. Investigation found the driver possessed a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. James McAnany 51, of Brookhaven, was arrested and charged with drug and traffic offenses.
June 21 at 12:49 a.m.
While driving along the 1200 block of Providence Road, officers observed a vehicle traveling the opposite direction swerve and almost strike the police head-on. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The driver, 30, of Lansdowne, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He refused a test of his blood and was later released to family. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses will be filed.

June 21 at 11:10 a.m.
Officers stopped a vehicle on the 600 block of Baltimore Pike due to illegal tinted windows. Four male subjects were found to be inside the vehicle. The driver, Larry Wilmer, 33, of Wilmington, was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Delaware and was taken into custody and charged with Fugitive from Justice. He was later transported to Delaware County Prison. A passenger inside the vehicle, Gershad Andre, 29, of Elsmere, was taken into custody for possessing a quantity of cocaine. He was processed and released, and charges for drug offenses were filed.
June 22 at 1:55 p.m.
A contractor reported that while working on the roof of the Olde Sproul Shopping Center, someone entered his work truck and stole tools from inside the truck.
June 22 at 6:30 p.m.
A 48-year-old male from Philadelphia will be charged with Retail Theft after security at Macy’s at the mall observed him steal $170 worth of Polo clothing. The male was taken into custody and later released.
June 23 at 11:24 a.m.
Officers responded to Norwinden Drive and Cambridge Road for a report that a vehicle struck a road sign and kept driving. A second call was received reporting the same vehicle had struck a parked vehicle on the 300 block of Garden Road. Responding officers found the striking vehicle on the 200 block of Parham Road and observed the driver hit a curb while trying to park. The driver, a 41-year-old male from Springfield, was found to be intoxicated. He failed field sobriety tests and refused a blood test. He was taken into custody and later released to family. Charges for hit and run and DUI will be filed.
June 23 at 8:03 p.m.
Employees at the Wine and Spirits Store 1000, block of Baltimore Pike, reported a male subject had entered their private offices and stole two wallets containing credit cards and cash. The cards were later used to make unauthorized transactions at several Wawa stores. Det. McNeely is investigating.
June 23 at 8:50 p.m.
A 35-year-old male from Philadelphia will be charged with Retail Theft after he was observed by Macy’s security at the mall stealing over $300 worth of Polo clothing. The male was taken into custody and released.
June 24 at 1:45 a.m.
Three males were found on the Springfield High School property making noise. One of the males was found to be 15 years old, from Norwood, and will be charged with Curfew Violation.
June 24 at 2:59 p.m.
A resident of the 300 block of Powell Road reported the theft of a red maple tree from the front of her property.
June 25 at 2:09 a.m.
A 19-year-old male from Springfield will be charged with UAD and Public Drunkenness after being observed by police stumbling along the 900 block of Baltimore Pike. The male needed medical attention and transported to a hospital.
June 25 at 6:45 p.m.
A resident of the 900 block of Westfield Road reported a delivered package on the front porch was stolen by a male subject who was observed by a surveillance camera. Det. McNeely is investigating.
June 26 at 3:44 a.m.
A 17-year-old male from Springfield will be charged with a curfew violation after being observed by police walking on Sproul Road near Kennerly Road. He was released to family.
June 22
Three buildings were found to have been marked with graffiti throughout the week; one on North Brookside Road and two on Saxer Avenue. Sgt. J. DiTrolio is investigating.
