Springfield Crime Blotter: Vehicle Break Ins, Assault, More

Police said residents on Old State, St. Davids, and Hilltop roads had their vehicles broken into on Nov. 27.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Springfield Township Police issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

The blotter includes incidents that occurred in the township between Nov. 26 through Nov. 30.

Nov. 26 at 7:31 p.m.
An employee at the mall reported after his shift he discovered the catalytic converter had been removed from his vehicle parked in the mall near Macy’s. Det. Nutley is investigating.

Nov. 27 at 4:24 p.m.
Officers responded to the parking lot of Springfield Mall near Macy’s for a report of a fight. Officers found a juvenile female from Springfield had instigated a physical altercation with a couple inside the mall property. The altercation continued outside until the female was subdued by police. The female was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Harassment and released to family.

Nov. 27 at 9:48 p.m.
Residents of Old State Road, St. Davids Road and Hilltop Road reported their vehicles had been entered. One of the vehicles had items taken from inside. On Old State Road two males were observed entering the vehicle and fleeing before police arrival.

Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.
The Northern Delaware County DUI Task force conducted a checkpoint on Baltimore Pike from 7 p.m. until midnight. No arrests were made. Six traffic citations were issued, and two subjects were tested for DUI.

Nov. 28 at 7:10 p.m.
The CVS 700 block Baltimore Pike reported a male stole five beard trimmers and ran out of the store. Det. Nutley is investigating.

Nov. 28 at 7:15 p.m.
A resident of the 100 block Broadview Road observed an unknown subject inside a vehicle in the driveway. The subject fled through the rear of the property into the woods. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Nov. 29 at 6:31 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported a female had placed numerous electronic items in a shopping cart and tried to leave the store. Officers were on location and stopped the female outside the exit and recovered over $1000 worth of merchandise. A 32-year-old woman from Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with Retail Theft. She was held for arraignment. A male subject who had been with the female was later found in the Target bathroom. He had an active arrest warrant from Montgomery County and was taken into custody.

Nov. 30 at 2:10 a.m.
Officers investigated an altercation at the Wawa 100 block Saxer Avenue in which a female subject harassed a group of females who were waiting for food. The female took one of the girl’s food order and walked outside without paying for it. As the girl attempted to get her sandwich back, the female struck the girl in the face and pulled her hair. The female then took the girl’s cell phone and drove out of the lot. Officers found the female in her vehicle on Leamy Avenue Contact was made and the female who attempted to push past the officers and enter a house. She was stopped and began to yell and curse at officers. She was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. Lisa Bier, 30, of Springfield, was charged with DUI, Theft, Assault, Resisting Arrest and other charges and was held for arraignment.
