Springfield High Among Schools Getting $35K For STEM

The grants are meant to meet the needs of local education agencies​ and their schools that have limited to no computer science offerings.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Students pursuing studies in STEM and computer science in the Springfield School District will be happy to learn the district among several others getting funds from a sizable grant to promote STEM.

The district is one of 221 others in the state that earned a $35,000 Targeted Grant, aimed at boosting participation "among underserved and underrepresented students" in computer science and STEM.

Springfield High School was included in a group of 16 Delaware County Technical High Schools that got funding.

School districts can apply for additional funding after teachers complete initial training on the new curriculum.
