Springfield Local To Showcase Exceptional Works During Art Unleashed

Jewelry, Furniture, Sculpture, Photography, Illustrations, Paintings and More On Exhibit and For Sale April 8-11

Emily of Springfield, PA was chosen to feature her work in the much anticipated Art Unleashed exhibition and sale at the University of the Arts when the show opens in April. As an alumna with her BFA in Photography, Brett will be participating in Art Unleashed for the second time.

“Showcasing my work during Art Unleashed is important to me because it helps raise money for scholarships,” said Feehery. “I know that if my work sells I'm helping to add to those scholarships which will give financial aid to students who can continue to create, learn and strengthen their skills. It's also important to me because it gives me the chance to have my work shown alongside my peers and teachers, both of whom I'm excited and honored to be exhibited with again.”

As a recent graduate, Feehery’s photography has developed technically and conceptually since attending the University of the Arts. “I became more conscious of the message my photos were sending, what was symbolized in my images, how the media I used aided in the interpretation of the work, and how to control these elements,” said Feehery.

The University of the Arts will hosts its annual Art Unleashed exhibit and sale April 8-11 in iconic Hamilton Hall. Celebrating its seventh year, Art Unleashed features the original work of students, faculty, alumni and staff through a public exhibition and sale. The annual Opening Night Party, this year on Thursday, April 7, has become one of Philadelphia’s can’t-miss art events, as it gives more than 700 guests the chance to preview more than 1,000 works of art and purchase their favorites before the public show opens. Art Unleashed is the University’s largest fundraiser for student scholarships.

“In my short time at the University, I have experienced a depth of artistic and innovative talent here that is remarkable. I look forward to celebrating the excellence of our community during Art Unleashed and to expanding support of our Sam S. McKeel Promising Young Artists Scholarship Fund for the generations of talent to come,” said David Yager, the new president of University of the Arts.
