Springfield Man Attacked Tow Truck Driver With Wrench: Police

Police said the 39-year-old Springfield man attacked a tow truck driver with a wrench over the weekend in Upper Darby.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — A Springfield man surrendered to Upper Darby Police recently in connection with an assault that occurred on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Alan Nicholas Marabito 39, of Springfield, is facing felony aggravated assault, terroristic threats, harassment, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and possession of an instrument of crime, court records show.

Police allege Marabito struck a male in the head with a wrench several times on Feb. 23 in Upper Darby.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports Marabirto is accused of attacking a man who was towing his vehicle at Burmont and Marvine roads.

Marabirto was released Feb. 26 after posting 10 percent of $35,000 bail.

He is slated to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 5, according to court records.

Marabito has had several run-ins with police, per court documents.

He's previously been charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and DUI, court records show.
