Springfield Man Who Bit Live Bird's Head Off To Be Charged: Authorities
Officials from the Providence Animal Center said humane officers are investigating the incident to determine what charges to file

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Humane officers in Delaware County are planning to file charges against a Springfield man who was caught on video killing a parakeet by biting its head.
Officials with the Providence Animal Center, formerly the Delaware County SPCA, said the man in the video will likely be hit with a misdemeanor charge in connection with the incident. However, further investigation is required to determine the exact charge, officials said.
The video was posted to Twitter, then screenshots of the video were posted to a Delaware County lost pets Facebook group Thursday Aug. 10, which led Springfield Township Police to investigate the incident. Police then handed the case over to the animal center after they conducted a preliminary investigation, police said.
