An article released by National Geographic about a major discovery in Guatemala refutes the 2012 doomsday prophecy thought to be held by the Ancient Maya Civilization, Franco's sister Maria Rossi Anderson told Springfield Patch.
Franco graduated from American University in 2005 and went to Boston University as a PhD candidate in Archaeology, specializing in Maya culture. He is currently researching this site for his doctorate thesis.
