Springfield Police Blotter: Robbery, Theft, DUI, More
An Aston man is facing charges after allegedly attempting to steal a wallet from a woman who was trying on clothing inside a fitting room.

March 5, 4:26 p.m.
A resident of the 100 block of Broadview Road reported sometime overnight someone entered his unlocked vehicle and removed his wallet from the center cup holder.

March 7, 3:04 p.m.
Target security 800 block Baltimore Pike reported observing a female select numerous items of clothing, baby items, and health items and place them in a shopping cart. She proceeded through the self checkout line and put $8 cash into the register. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for the rest of the items. Security stopped her and recovered over $250 worth of merchandise. Maria Frazier, 37, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody, charged with retail theft, and held for arraignment.
March 9, 1:25 a.m.
Ofc. Christy observed a vehicle make a wide turn onto Hawarden Road from Hillview Drive He followed the vehicle and observed it driving recklessly along Norwinden Dr. The vehicle was stopped on Springfield Road, and the driver, 34, of Yeadon, exhibited signs of intoxication. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. He submitted to a blood test and was released later to a friend.
March 9, 5:08 p.m.
Officers responded to Macy’s at the mall for a report from security they had a male in custody for stealing over $400 worth of merchandise. Corey Smith, 36, of Yeadon was arrested after security observed him selecting numerous Polo merchandise and attempt to leave without paying. He was charged with retail theft and held for arraignment.
March 10, 3:12 a.m.
While on patrol, Officer Christy observed an occupied parked vehicle along the 200 block Lynbrooke Road. Upon investigation he found three juvenile males inside the vehicle. All three males were found to be consuming alcohol and were taken into custody and released to their parents.
March 10, 3:35 p.m.
Officers responded to the Macy’s store for a report of a robbery that occurred. Upon arrival, they found a male had attempted to steal a wallet from a woman who was trying on clothing inside a fitting room. The woman fought off the male and did not relinquish her wallet. The male fled through the mall but was observed by a witness who held him until police arrived. Joseph Diamond, 37, of Aston was taken into custody and charged with robbery and related offenses. He was held for arraignment.
