Springfield Police Blotter: Vandalism, Thefts, Public Drunkenness
A woman was found inside a Baltimore Pike restaurant reportedly passed out after allegedly using crack, police said. Full blotter here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police issued their most recent crime blotter on Monday, July 9.
The blotter covers incidents police handled between July 2 and July 7.
Notable incidents include dirt and hair put inside an apartment complex washing machine, a purse theft at Chic-Fil-A, and vandalism as a church.

July 2, 6:42 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported they observed a female conceal automotive goods, grocery items and clothing underneath bags she had in a shopping cart. She attempted to leave the store without paying for the items and was stopped. The store recovered over $200 worth of merchandise. The 29-year-old female was taken into custody and processed. She will be charged with retail theft.

July 2, 9:41 p.m.
The landlord of a complex on the 600 block Yale Avenue reported that someone had placed dirt inside one of the clothes’ washers and motor oil inside a dryer. He reportedly had two problem tenants move out of the complex the day before finding this damage.
July 3, 12:50 p.m.
A woman reported that while eating with her family at Chick-Fil-A, 800 block Baltimore Pike, someone stole her wallet from her purse. She said her purse was hanging from the back of a chair. When the male seated behind her went to leave, he bumped her chair. She did not discover the missing wallet until afterwards. Several unauthorized credit card transactions took place shortly after the theft. Det. Nutley is investigating.
July 4, 3:59 p.m.
Target at the mall security observed a female, who was not a sales’ associate, conceal $70 worth of clothing inside a shopping bag. She attempted to leave the store without paying and was stopped by security. The female was found by police to have several items of drug paraphernalia inside a personal bag. Tiffany Mercer-Ross 36, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft and drug offenses. She was taken to arraignment at Springfield Court.
July 5, 12:01 p.m
Police were called to the Red Iron Pub, 600 block Baltimore Pike, to investigate an unconscious female seated at a table inside the restaurant. She did not want to be awoken and yelled and screamed at officers as they attempted to help her. They found she was intoxicated on crack and took her into custody. Stephanie Weiner 33, of Wilmington, Delaware, was charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct and later released to a friend.
July 5, 6:56 p.m.
Target at the mall security observed a female shopping with an infant and a young girl pushing a baby stroller. She selected jewelry and concealed the jewelry in the stroller. She then went to a checkout area and paid for clothing. She did not pay for the jewelry and tried to leave the store before being stopped. Target recovered $180 worth of jewelry from the stroller. Javia Bell 23, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. Her infant son and sister were turned over to a friend. Bell was found to have an active arrest warrant from Delaware County. She was held for arraignment at Springfield Court.
July 6, 2:35 p.m.
A male subject was observed concealing seven female watches valued at over $270 by security at Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike. He was stopped by security and the watches were recovered. Daniel Borton 54, of Chester, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. He was later arraigned at district court.
July 7, 10:04 a.m.
An employee at the Victoria Baptist Church, 1400 block Baltimore Pike, reported finding someone had thrown a rock through the glass of a window panel of a door to the church. It did not appear entry was gained to the church.
