Newsweek Ranks Springfield High School Among the Best

Find out how Springfield High School ranked in two national surveys.


Springfield High School was selected as one of the best high schools in Pennsylvania and the country by Newsweek Magazine and The Washington Post, in two recent national high school rankings.

Newsweek ranked Springfield High School 692 out of the 1,000 best high schools in the nation. 

The list is based on six components provided by school administrators: graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores, and AP courses offered per student.

The Washington Post's High School Challenge ranked Springfield High School 1812 out of 2009 high schools.

The Washington Post formula for developing the ranking is to divide the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or other college-level tests a school gave in 2011 by the number of graduating seniors.
