Stolen Vehicles, Package Thefts, Vandalism: Springfield Crime Blotter

Springfield Police reported a Jeep and a BMW were stolen on two separate occasions over the past week. See details here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued the weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 5 and Dec. 10.

Dec. 5 at 5:59 a.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Colonial Park Drive reported his Jeep vehicle was stolen sometime overnight. It was unknown the circumstances of the theft. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Dec. 5 at 7:05 a.m.
A resident of the unit block of South Rolling Road reported sometime overnight someone damaged the front and rear windshield wipers of his vehicle which was parked on the street.

Dec. 5 at 1:47 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Burns Drive reported sometime the prior evening someone cut a power cord to Christmas lights in the front of the property.

Dec. 6 at 9:08 p.m.
Macy’s security at the mall reported a female in custody after they observed her steal close to $550 worth of clothing from display. The 43 year old from Lansdowne was also found to have an active arrest warrant from Montgomery County for Retail Theft. She was turned over to Montgomery County.

Dec. 7 at 5:52 p.m.
A resident of the unit block of South Rolling Road reported that sometime overnight Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, someone damaged her two lantern lights in the front of the property.

Dec. 8 at 1:11 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Stanfield Road had her BMW vehicle stolen from the driveway at about 4:25 a.m. Another resident reported his unlocked vehicle parked on the street had been rummaged, but nothing taken. At about 6 a.m., Wilmington Police notified us that the BMW was located unoccupied in their city. The vehicle was not damaged and was returned to the owner. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Dec. 8 at 3:42 p.m.
A resident of the unit block of Thornridge Road reported an item that had been inside a package delivery had been stolen. She opened the delivered box and found the item missing from inside, and the box retaped.

Dec. 9 at 9:48 p.m.
Officers were called to the Macy’s at the mall for a report of a female who had stolen $1,900 worth of clothing. Officers responded and took Diamond Richards, 32, of Philadelphia, into custody. She was found in possession of a quantity of marijuana and also found to have an active arrest warrant from Delaware. She was charged as a fugitive from justice and taken to Delaware County Prison.

Dec. 10 at 2:26 p.m.
A resident of the unit block of East Springfield Road reported several packages stolen by a male from her front porch. The male then walked east on Springfield Road. Sgt. J. DiTrolio is investigating.
