Suspicious Incident Involving Man, Delaware County Student Investigated
The Springfield School District said authorities are investigating an incident in which an adult man tried to talk with a student Wednesday.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Authorities in Delaware County are looking into a suspicious incident involving an adult and a school student Wednesday.
According to the Springfield School District, one of its students was approached by an adult man while on their way to school Wednesday.
The district said the incident occurred at about 7:45 a.m. at the corner of Sheffield Drive and Bell Avenue.

According to the district, a man in grey truck with black spots, dents, and tinted windows tried to talk with the student.
The student, who was unharmed, did not know the driver and left the area immediately, then let district officials know of the situation.

Springfield Police were notified and are looking into the incident, according to the district.
"Although this incident occurred before official school hours, we feel it is appropriate to remind everyone to stay vigilant when dealing with safety concerns," Springfield School District Director of School Safety Sergeant Chris Chermak said in a letter to district families. "We encourage you to use every opportunity to assist your child(ren) in developing their level of independence with an awareness of safety and automatic responses to potentially unsafe situations."
