SWARTHMORE, PA – Financial analysts at WalletHub recently took a look at the best colleges and universities in the country, and we have the breakdown of how Pennsylvania schools fared, including Swarthmore College, in the rankings.

WalletHub’s analysts compared nearly 1,000 higher-education institutions in the U.S. based on 26 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as student selectivity, cost and financing, and career outcomes.

The data set ranges from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.

So, when factoring all the metrics, Swarthmore is ranked Pennsylvania's second best institution of higher learning, just behind University of Pennsylvania and a head of Carnegie Mellon University.

According to WalletHub, Swarthmore has the state's best admission rate, the second best admission rate, student-faculty ratio, and gender and racial diversity among PA schools.

Overall, the Delaware County college is the 24th best in the country, WalletHub says.
