Thefts, DUI, Car Break-In, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Police reported several hundreds of dollars in merchandise was stolen from Macy's, Target, and CVS last week. See the full blotter here.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between July 17 and July 23.

July 17 at 3:25 p.m.
A 41-year-old Philadelphia resident was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after being observed by Macy’s security stealing close to $700 worth of merchandise.

July 18 at 8:01 a.m.
A resident of the unit block of St. Davids Road reported that sometime overnight his Acura vehicle was stolen from the driveway. There were no signs of forced entry.

July 20 at 11:44 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Kingsbury received a license plate reader activation for a vehicle with expired registration. He stopped the vehicle on Baltimore Pike near Bishop Avenue and found the driver to be intoxicated. The 46-year-old male from Philadelphia was taken into custody and refused a blood test. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses will be filed.

July 21 at 6:45 p.m.
A 40-year-old male from Darby was taken into custody for Public Drunkenness after being found in a bathroom at Target, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, under the influence of an opioid. He was also found to have an arrest warrant out of Delaware County Domestic Relations. He was later taken to a hospital for treatment.

July 22 at 9:34 a.m.
Target security at the mall reported a female had stolen over $360 worth of health and beauty products, as well as boys’ clothing. Officers responded and took into custody a 27-year-old Philadelphia resident. She was charged with Retail Theft and arraigned.

July 22 at 9:08 p.m.
Macy’s security at the mall reported four subjects stopped for stealing $400 worth of jewelry. The adult male and three juvenile females, all from Philadelphia, were taken into custody and later released to family. They will be charged with Retail Theft.

July 23 at 5 p.m.
A 51-year-old male from Philadelphia was taken into custody for stealing over $700 worth of merchandise from CVS, 700 block of Baltimore Pike. The male was found to have an active arrest warrant for probation violation and was later turned over to constables. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
