Thefts, DUI, Underage Drinking, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Three people from Delaware were charged with DUI and underage drinking after a crash on Baltimore Pike. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Tuesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Feb. 27 and March 5.

Feb. 27 at 9:27 a.m.
A Volkswagen vehicle parked on the lot of the Volkswagen dealership, 300 block of Baltimore Pike, had all four rims removed and stolen sometime overnight.

March 1 at 12:43 a.m.
Officer Lord located a disabled vehicle with two flat tires in the parking lot of Qdoba, 1000 block of Baltimore Pike. It was learned that the driver had struck a curb on Baltimore Pike, which flattened the tires, and she was found to be intoxicated. The driver, 22, of Milford, Delaware, was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. She was later released to family and will be charged with DUI and traffic offenses. Two minor passengers - a 20-year-old male and a 19-year-old female, both of Dover, Delaware, will be charged with Underage Drinking.

March 1 at 4:21 a.m.
Several vehicles on Hill Farm Lane and Penn Lane had windows smashed overnight. Entry inside was made, and vehicle documents and a lug nut key were stolen.

March 2 at 3:52 p.m.
Several vehicles parked in the lot on a property on the unit block of East Sproul Road had their catalytic converters stolen sometime during the day.

March 4 at 7:45 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target at the mall to investigate four juveniles males who were throwing glass jars on the floor and knocking over product displays. The males fled the area on Baltimore Pike, and three were located on the 800 block. A 14-year-old male from Philadelphia and 13- and 14-year-old males from Clifton Heights were taken into custody. They were brought to headquarters and later turned over to family. Charges for Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct will be filed.

March 5 at noon
A 62-year-old Chester man was arrested for stealing over $230 worth of clothing and jewelry from Macy’s at the mall. He was held for arraignment and later released on bail.
