Tommy Davis Brings Neo-Gospel Music to Vinyl Revival
Gospel recording artist Tommy Davis brings his style of R&B/Soul influenced inspirational and traditional gospel music to Vinyl Revival.

Gospel recording artist Tommy Davis brings his style of R&B/Soul influenced inspirational and traditional gospel music to Vinyl Revival, 35-37 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Lansdowne, PA, on Saturday, March 14th at 8 p.m. Davis will sing songs from his recently released album, “The Truth about Love,” as well as, perform traditional gospel songs, and recite inspirational words. Tickets are $12 and are available online at www.vinylrevivalrecords.com or in-person up until show time at Vinyl Revival. This is a BYOB and snacks event.
Tommy Davis began singing at five years old in a country church in his native Mississippi and Louisiana and he was soon given the title “The little preacher boy” because of his intensely emotional vocal style. Influenced by the vocal agility of Rev. C. L. Franklin and the silky vocals of Rev. Cleophus Robinson, Sr.; and Maliah Jackson; Davis found his own blend of gritty and smooth singing style. He adopted the phrasing and soulful expressions from Aretha Franklin, Al Green, and B.B. King and integrated his love for artists like Anthony Hamilton, Eric Benet, and Fantasia. His influences shaped a style reflecting old school gospel and intergenerational R&B and hip hop music.
To hear samples of his R&B/Soul influenced inspirational/gospel songs “YOU, Alright With Me, I Wanna Feel You”; the socially conscious song “Stand for Love”, and foot-stomping gospel songs “I Made it Over”, a cover of “I Can Go to God In Prayer,” visit www.soundcloud.com/tommy-davis-28.
