Two Cars Amongst Stolen Items in Springfield

Read about some of the crimes being investigated by Springfield Police.

A number of residents reported recent thefts from their properties, including two cars.

  • A resident from the 300 block of Spring Valley Road reported that sometime during the night of Sept. 10 someone stole his black colored 2002 Chevrolet Blazer from a neighbor's driveway while his driveway was being repaired. The vehicle contained hockey equipment and a Dell lap-top computer.
  • A resident from the 400 block of W. Leamy Avenue reported that sometime during the night of Sept. 10 someone entered her unlocked car and stole loose change, a small amount of cash, and a Chik-Fil-A gift card while the car was parked in the driveway of the home.
  • A resident from the Unit block of Surrey Road reported that sometime during the night of Sept. 11 someone stole two boy's BMX bikes from the basement of his apartment building. The bikes are valued at $200.
  • A resident from the 100 block of S. Rolling Road reported that he was coming home from a neighbor's house on Sept. 15 and saw his work truck backing out of the driveway. The truck was observed being operated by young man. The victim tried to stop the truck but it fled on S. Rolling Road towards Saxer Avenue. On Sept. 16 police found the truck in the 200 block of S. Highland Road. The truck and its contents were intact but the keys were gone.
  • A resident from the 400 block of Colonial Park Drive reported that sometime during the night of Sept. 14 someone entered his unlocked car and stole his wallet while the car was parked in the driveway of the home. The wallet contained credit cards and cash. The wallet was recovered in a driveway in the 400 block of Hawarden Road, minus the credit cards and cash.
  • A resident from the 500 block of E. Scenic Road reported that sometime during the night of Sept. 14 someone entered his unlocked car, which was parked in the driveway of the home and stole his wallet. The wallet contained credit cards and various forms of identification. The wallet was recovered in a driveway in the 400 block of Hawarden Road, minus the credit cards. 
  • A resident from the Unit block of W. Thomson Avenue reported that sometime during the night of Sept. 14 someone stole his white colored 2009 Ford Ranger from the driveway of the home. The car had been left unlocked with the keys under the floor mat. The truck contained various work tools, valued in excess of $3,500.00.
