Uber Rider Shot Sunday Night Just Outside Delaware County: Police

The 22-year-old victim was shot once in the foot after getting into the vhicle at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday in Southwest Philadelphia.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the foot as he was riding in an Uber car Sunday night just outside Delaware County in Southwest Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Police and media reports.

According to police, the shooting occurred at about 11:51 p.m. on the 6500 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway.

The man was shot once in the foot while riding in an Uber. He was later taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and in stable condition, police said.

According to CBS Philadelphia, the Uber picked up the victim at 65th and Cobbs Creek when a Crown Victoria pulled up alongside the Uber vehicle and fired at least three shots.

The Uber driver fled the area to a police station, but the victim ran from the vehicle once it stopped at the station, CBS reports. He was later found at his nearby home.

A gun was found at the scene of the shooting but police are unsure if it was used in the shooting.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
