Volunteers Needed for Community Watch

Are you interested in playing an active part in keeping the Springfield community safe?

is looking for residents to volunteer for the community watch program. 

Positions are available for patrollers and the planning committee.

According to the Springfield Community Watch website, "Community Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of residents in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime, solve problems, and improve the quality of life in your area."

Volunteers learn how to:

• Recognize and report crimes and suspicious activities
• Protect themselves, their family, and their property
• Protect their neighbor's family and property
• Identify crime and disorder problems and work with SPD to solve them
