• Kingston Borough pulls out of police regionalization (timesleader.com) — A proposed regional police department that would have included Swoyersville has stalled after Kingston Borough voted unanimously to stop pursuing consolidation. Kingston leaders said a state study showed little cost savings and raised concerns about losing control over their larger force, which currently contracts services to Forty Fort, Swoyersville, and Pringle. Neighboring towns may still consider next steps independently.
